Father Roger Landry presented a three-part series of talks at the Basilica of Saint Mary during a Lenten retreat on March 23, 2019 titled "Rebuilding the Church with Living Stones: Responding to the Ecclesial Crisis with Personal Holiness."
Father Roger Landry works for the Holy See’s Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts in 1999. He is an alumnus of Harvard College and the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was an on-site commentator for EWTN’s coverage of the 2013 papal conclave that elected Pope Francis and appears often on Catholic radio programs. He writes for various Catholic publications and is the author of the new book Plan of Life: Habits to Help You Grow Closer to God.
Founded in 1795, the Basilica of Saint Mary in Old Town Alexandria is the first Catholic parish established in Virginia. Pope Francis named the church a minor basilica on December 6, 2017 due to its important role in the growth of the Catholic Church in North America.
